This hotel was convenient for us, for one night stop. Price was 1500TL, without breakfast or parking included.
What we liked:
✅️Spacious, it's a small apartment that could fit a family;
✅️Near the city center and lots of restaurants;
✅️Big bed with a good firm mattress;
✅️The room was warm enough;
✅️Kitchen - if you want to cook;
✅️The man who answered the phone and greeted us had a positive vibe and some English skills.
What we didn’t like:
❗️Cleaning was superficial - the kind that looks ok in photos: I felt some sticky spots on the floor and the WC has some stains;
❗️There are no hangers in the bathroom, you don't have anywhere to put a hands’ towel or a shower towel;
❗️There's no room for toiletries near the sink or in the shower cabin;
❗️Nightstand lamps don't work;
❗️No bed sheet to cover yourself, only a blanket that's too rough for my taste - I see that's the norm in Turkey, but I would appreciate a bed sheet between the blanket and me;
❗️Freezer didn't work to freeze 2 small water bottles overnight;
❗️Weak noise insulation near a very loud street even at late hours.
❗️Toiletries provided looked expired.
❗️After we got the first room, my partner took a shower. Then, all of a sudden, there was no water anywhere. We could no longer use water through any installation: sink, shower, or toilet. Called the reception and didn't appreciate the man's suggestion to wait for the manager and see what happens. It was late, we were tired and hungry. Luckily, he changed the room after we showed our discontent.
❗️But then the reception shift changed, and the woman who replaced him didn't know a word, and also Google Translate wasn't her best friend. It's unreal to me how you can be hired as a hotel reception representative, with 0 English skills.
❗️The problem was that in the second room we got, the shower cable needed to be changed, and I felt it was too much of a hassle for us to make her understand what we needed. She wanted us to wait another X minute for somebody to come and change it. We were still tired and hungry.🤯 Why was that cable broken in the first place? It's another thing I can't understand for a hotel that positions as premium. Why did the cleaning staff not notice the problem and fix it?
❗️They don't provide an invoice, only if you are on a business trip.
