We stayed at the Konyaalti Furkan Family about two weeks ago. It was a family reunion. so we shared two flats.
Our flat was big and spacious and light. But unfortunately, this is the only good thing I can say about our time in Furkan Family.
The flat is utterly shabby and needs a complete renovation.
Sockets torn from the wall, chopped caps, and pillows and linens with huge stains of unknown origin, someone’s dry bugger spread on the wall – that is awful enough. But there were four AC units – one worked, two were blowing ambient air, and one was dead. The maintenance guy came, turned one of the units on and off a couple of times, said “Ok?” and left without fixing anything. Did I mention our extended family with kids and a senior? And +35 outside?
Second, when we arrived, out flat was just dirty and we spent our precious holiday time cleaning the toilets after previous guests, which was outrageous per se, and we already paid for cleaning service. And it was not easy because we literally didn’t have anything to clean with. Hoover? – nope, there was one in one of the apartments that did not function, likely because it did not have a collection bag. Mop, rag and bucket? – nope! When we asked the management about these supplies and where we can get the vacuum cleaner bag, we got the answer: “Market.” There were no other basic supplies either. The dishwasher didn’t wash much off the dishes due to its poor condition. Rude, dismissive and indifferent attitude on the part of non-English-speaking management was the icing on the cake.
As to security. All of the balcony locks/handles were rickety and one simply broken, and did not lock at all.
And finally – the pool. Don’t let the pretty pictures fool you. There were always people in clothing (not swimsuits, just clothing) swimming in the pool, as if they got hot from work and decided to freshen up in it. Plus, this pool has no filtration system, so technically it’s just a pit with standing water. Very unhygienic, especially for kids.
So, I do NOT recommend staying in the Koyaalti Furkan Family apartments.
Unless of course, you are not against cleaning by yourself, buying a vacuum cleaner in the “market” and sleeping in hot rooms without AC.
